First, many thanks to the Library of Congress for restoring the silent film. Wonderful job and very glad it was included as an extra on the regular Blu-Ray release. Now, to the question. In the end, when Paul is killed and we see his hand go limp; I read that this was actually the Director's hand as all of the actor's were gone from production. Assuming that is true (and maybe it is not), was this something thought of after the actor's left or was it pre-planned and the Director figured his hand was as good as any?
Open, general discussion of silent films, personalities and history.
