Challenge accepted. I cancelled my original pledge of $30 and went for the combo pack perk at $60. Go and do likewise, fans!

Speedy,

:? I posted over about this fundraiser project on the TCM forums tonight which apparently no one else took the time to do. I couldn't find any mention of it over there previously. Hopefully it might generate some funds. I also will post over on the Golden Age Of Hollywood boards as well. I haven't been to Silver Screen Oasis in a long time, but that might be another place to mention this. Wish we had about another month, not just over a week. :(

I had posted the Kickstarter link and mentioned the project but it was deleted by admin.

I make a policy of not posting on the TCM sites. I made a joke that I'd found London After Midnight a couple of years ago, and it filtered on to TCM's site, even though I had nothing to do with putting it there. (Given the fact that I posted on April Fool's Day and it was a pretty obvious joke, I thought it was OK, but no...)

I got yelled at pretty roundly for it by some TCM people and a lot of TCM viewers, so I just backed off. There are a lot of highly wound people there, even more so than here.

Whoever posted the link there, thanks... I wasn't going to!

They're pretty harsh about posting links, especially if they think money is involved. They've also deleted links to my own Kickstarter projects. You can talk about them, just not link to them....

Is this also true of public groups in Facebook, such as Silents Please, or The Silent Film Group? Do the moderators of those discussion boards permit links to Kickstarter projects?

Thanks. I'll check to see if anyone has posted links to this project at those boards. If not, I'd be happy to do it myself.

I already posted links to the Kickstarter for Little Orphant Annie and the GoFundMe for Little Mickey Grogan on these Facebook Groups a couple of weeks ago, but feel free to post them again.

Looks promising to me at this point. Keep sharing on social media--most understand the importance of these projects and won't mind seeing a couple additional reminders here and there...

When and if you re-post, be sure to mention this is going to have a film-out and is not just for DVD/Blu.

....... and that you explain what film-out means, so that Little Annie doesn't get infected with Stedmanitis like Little Mickey!

It's always a struggle, because people complain if you get too technical with them, and the process of doing a film restoration like this is one of the most BORING, TIME-CONSUMING things you can imagine. It's almost painful to do them, but the result is so cool...

... but then if you're not technical enough, then they think they're being scammed.

The lab fees for the digital to film output on this will be a little over 5K, I suspect. So that's half the money eaten up right there.

Ive pledged for the BluRay and I'm surprised that the restoration costs are ONLY costing $10,000 all up. I thought film restoration would have been more expensive than that. Very worthwhile project.

$1100 to go, four days left. C'mon guys, let's do this. This simply has to get funded. You know it does. If it doesn't happen now, this Colleen Moore treasure will never see the light of day, and that would be a tragedy for the silent film community. So many of her films have been lost already; we gotta save this one.

You guys rock. Also, I just bumped this up again a few hours ago on four FB silent film pages with a heartfelt and even desperate plea.

Everyone,

:? I've tried contacting Suzanne Lloyd who is after-all Colleen's God Daughter! Unfortunately I was not aware that I wasn't already friends with her on Facebook? Hopefully, I will be friends with her shortly. Also attempted to reach Colleen's step Grand Daughter Alice Hargrave, and step Niece Malinda Morrison. Also Judith Hargrave Colman as well. Have no idea if any of them are aware of this project or not? Eric Grayson said he did not know Annette Lloyd. Based on that comment, I take it she hasn't contributed as of yet? Can someone help reach these folks that are closer to the situation? Thanks.

17 Million Annie Fans Can't Be Wrong

I'm guessing at least 17 Million people have read the poem, so obviously
we aren't promoting the project in all the right juke joints ... Also, it would help
if each page in this thread provided a

link to the project's Kickstarter page.

This is gratifying, but I'd love to see this much effort and enthusiasm over Mickey Grogan.

Only $603 left to go! Amazing. A few days ago I would have thought this had no chance, but now, with a little luck, it looks like it will fund. Exciting.

And...$548 left to go now. When I posted this morning, we had $1100 left to go, so half the remainder was wiped out in ONE DAY. We just might make it.
