Also looked at Viola Dana, Mary Miles Minter...

A lot of actresses started their career later, after the copyright deadline date of 1923: Myrna Loy, Marcellie Day, Barbara Kent, Louise Brooks. Anna May Wong, Boris Karloff, Constance Bennett and Esther Ralston made only a couple films before that date: most of them lost.

Maybe a William Desmond Taylor feature not listed on Wikipedia?

My initial search list (from a few years ago) netted some possibilities. I have not gotten specific info on them. But Elaine Hammerstein, Shirley Mason, Enid Bennett, Alma Rubens were among the "names," though not sure how much interest there'd be.

I have a few more on the list I'll check this week. Even meeting all the basic criteria, you still don't know until to check specific titles with Rob Stone or Rosemary Hanes to check on donor restrictions, language, what shape the films is in, etc.

The IMDb still has it that "The Love Special" seems to be lost.

Should have new music score from David Drazin, largely based on my original music, today. So I should have everything uploaded to Pressing Media for production. My hope is to have this mailed before Thanksgiving but I kinda doubt it'll move that fast.

I was cataloguing my DVD collection over the weekend and realized that I've amassed a nice little collection of Marion Davies thanks to Ed and Ben. Well done, since I had precious little with her before.

Thanks! I've Kickstarted Davies' Enchantment, The Restless Sex, Beauty's Worth, The Bride's Play, April Folly, and Buried Treasure. The last one should be in the mails on Friday the 24th if they actually shipped out yesterday from the diskmaker and includes surviving footage of The Belle of New York.

Ben scored Beauty's Worth and The Bride's Play and of course produced and scored the magnificent restoration of When Knighthood Was in Flower. These three are available on Amazon.

Buried Treasure is in, though I had to drive out and pick up packages at UPS because the diskmaker made an error. After lugging the boxes through the cold rain (I couldn't park anywhere near the place) I got them home and they are all packed up for Friday mail out. I think I'm too old for this. Well, maybe only the schlepping of boxes in the cold rain.

Thanks to all who have supported these Marion Davies projects!

It's the cold rain that makes us old.

Well, that and the shlepping.

That's a nice write-up, but calling Ben Model's Undercrank Productions "Venerable"? What a fate for a nice Jewish boy!

I think it's a matter that Augustine of Hippo summed up well: Lord, make me pure, but not yet!

I think he might have meant estimable rather than venerable ...

I'll take it. I've produced and released 17 DVDs in 5 years. Considering how long Kickstarter has been around, 'venerable' works.
