I'm Casey from UCLA Film & Television Archive and I want to thank you for sharing the news of our Perfect Day crowdfunding campaign! And many thanks to those of you who have already contributed. Our preservation efforts would not be possible without the generous support of Laurel & Hardy fans like yourselves.

They should do one of these for the moribund restoration effort on the 1925 PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

$51,000 raised, well over the $45,000 asked.

Perfect Day has always been my favorite L&H short, and I'm glad to see that it inspires such affection and support even now. It's a hoot throughout ("Goodbye!!"), but take the moment after the sandwich fight, when Kay Deslys tells them to "Forgive and forget." They look pouty, then sheepish, and then break out in giggles before Ollie says "No more arguments from now on!" I swear, it's truly one of the sweetest moments ever put on film.
