This Kickstarter project has topped its modest goal of $1000 in less than a day — due, I would like to think, to the generosity of Nitratevillains and the well-deserved esteem in which Jack and Jason Hardy are held.

However, like the old Popeil tv ads, there’s more. There are as-yet unnamed shorts to be added to the set as stretch goals, so if you were thinking about it, but decided the job’s been done, here’s another reason to pledge.

Whatever, I didn't need that money anyway. ;)

No really, I went to Kickstarter to find Ben Model's project and found this one so I got a two-fer tonight. :)

It warms my heart seeing these silent film releases on Kickstarter exceeding expectations in like a day or two.

The funding has already reached the stage where at least one of the extra shorts will be included. Contribute, get the feature, three, rarely seen Banks shorts and perhaps more!

Hey Bob,

Read this on the Kickstarter Page about the Stretch Goal: "The footage we already have may limit us to only being able to add just one more short, as we absolutely do not want to lose quality by over compressing the DVD. More info soon!"

Why not just making a 2-disc-set out of it, if funding goes high enough and if it doesn't require an extraordinary sum? Then you wouldn't have to worry about over compressing.
Are there any chances,or am I just dreaming?

Greetings!

I'm not the guys who are doing this project. That's Jack & Jason Hardy of Grapevine Video. I was notified of it because I am on their mailing list/contributed to their last kickstarter and brought it to the attention of Nitrateville. So I can only speculate.

My speculation is they prefer to do it on one disk because it's neater and those two-disk boxes are expensive and not really durable.

However, that's speculation. There's a function at the Kickstarter site to ask questions. Feel free to ask.

Now that Ben Model's latest Kickstarter has closed, just a reminder that this one is still open. Monty Banks!

The folks at Grapevine have just announced that the third short to be added to the dvd is a 2K transfer of Chasing Choo-Choos, the great cutdown of Monty Collins' Play Safe.

They also have some fragments that they are considering adding. Certainly, if they had more money in the (admittedly overflowing) pot, they might feel impelled to do so. If you have not already contributed, there's still a week to contribute to the Kickstarter project. Just go to the top of the thread and hit the link, or any of the links that JFK or other Nitratevillains have scattered hither and yon.
