ADRIAN MORRIS (1907-41)

Unread post by earlytalkiebuffRob » Fri Apr 14, 2017 2:36 pm

Watching the Mascot serial THE FIGHTING MARINES (1935), I looked up Adrian Morris, who plays Grant Withers's sergeant / sidekick, only to find he died in 1941 aged thirty-four. Does anyone know how it happened?

A newspaper from the time says he died of a brain hemmorhage. He was a brother of actor Chester Morris.

Thank you for that - very sad. Hadn't realised he was Chester Morris's brother until I looked him up. Suspect when I've seen him before it's been in smaller parts in bigger films.

I was watching some film a couple of years ago possibly released in 1941 and Adrian was billed under another name. For the life of me I don't remember the film or the name he was billed under but I'm certain it was him.

According to the IMDB, he was credited as Michael Morris a few times late in his career:

I remember seeing both brothers appearing together in a scene in a movie where if I remember correctly they have some kind of tussle. It might have been the 1933 Universal release "King for a Night"
