UNTAMED in Nitrate Technicolor

Unread post by Ray Faiola » Sun Sep 03, 2017 12:32 pm

Last night I saw UNTAMED (Paramount 1940) at Cinecon. Nitrate Technicolor. Wow, what a remarkable experience. I had never seen the film and it was quite enjoyable. More because of the production and cast than a great script (based on a Sinclair Lewis story). Ray Milland, Patricia Morison, Akim Tamiroff, Jane Darwell, Darryl Hickman, William Frawley, Charles Waldron, Esther Dale, Eily Malyon, Roscoe Ates, J. M. Kerrigan. The opening shot looked almost identical to the opening of THE SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS (1941). After the picture, Patricia Morison was introduced. At 102, she is still a raving beauty and totally charming.

Before the feature they ran a nitrate Tech of HARE RIBBIN' with the original ending.

Quite a wonderful evening all-around.
