American Indian documentary

Unread post by earlytalkiebuffRob » Sun May 20, 2018 2:50 pm

A little while ago, looking for a film with a similar, or the same title I came across a restored film from 1960 or thereabouts about modern-day American Indians and their problems. It had recently been restored by the Library of Congress or similar institution, and I'm gravelled if I can remember the title as it not only looked very interesting, but it would have been a good film to recommend to anyone studying these people. Any suggestions?

If they are living in Los Angeles, then it's The Exiles (1961):

If, as Rick says, it’s The Exiles, then it has shown up on TCM.

Yep, that's the one! I was trying to locate an upload of Oscar Micheaux's THE EXILE (1931) and that popped up... Many thanks!
