Open, general discussion of classic sound-era films, personalities and history.
In the introduction, Fernando explains that when they restored the film from a 35mm nitrate print was actually missing 8 minutes (which were always shown on television). They later manged to get a good 16mm print, if worn, and completed the restoration. This version was scanned for broadcast in HD now and here it is, with the aspect ratio corrected since they stretched it when they showed it.
This film is a masterpiece.
