King Kong Coming to Broadway

I guess after the success of "Harry Potter" onstage, "King Kong" is the next big movie property to hit the boards, opening this fall.

After a stop off at the Empire State Building, of course.

I don't know for sure, but I have a feeling that this show originated in Oz. I didn't see it as I don't much care for the rather loud rock type music that is in musicals now. I did though read about it as it required a virtual rebuild of the Regent Theatre, Melbourne, proscenium and orchestra pit area. The theatre organ was used - the console was shifted to half-way down the auditorium wall. Anyway it apparently had a successful run.

This is the same musical that I posted about in October 2013 regarding the upcoming premiere here in Melbourne Australia:

I clicked on the first link I supplied at that time and it took me straight to the Broadway show.

The huge puppet is quite amazing. I doubt the show as a show is, but if I have a chance I may catch it for the puppet anyway.

Will he break free from the chains and wreck the theatre every night?...
