TCM FRIDAY MORNING SEP 25

Unread post by Marr&Colton » Fri Sep 25, 2009 3:14 pm

Did anybody have their DVD recorder on for TCM on 9/25 at 6am through 1:30pm?

Featured were some very rare 1933 films including AIR HOSTESS (1933) with Thelma Todd....

I had my machine on at a friend's house who has TCM and had a malfunction so all I got was 7 hours of nothing....

If so, send me a PM...

We ran Air Hostess at Cinecon a few years ago. It was this movie that made the airline company change their name from TWAT to TWA. Harry Cohn said that there was no way that he was going to make a film that had an airline called TWAT on the screen.

Reminds me of an anecdote. It seems King George V vetoed several applications to name a ship after William Pitt. When asked he said he'd served in the navy and was quite aware of what "The Pit" signified onboard a ship.
