Lost Cleopatra footage

Unread post by Phillip Dye » Mon Jan 02, 2017 2:35 pm

I am reconstructing the lost film 'Cleopatra' (1917, starring Theda Bara). I am seeking out the owner of the last remaining footage. It used to belong to the late Rusty Casselton, but after his death, it went to another collector. No, the clip is not at the George Eastman House.

I have a standard definition transfer, but I would like to make a high definition transfer so the clip can be restored, removing the scratches and dirt for the video reconstruction.

Follow my progress on Facebook at 'Lost Film Cleopatra' or at the website http://www.LostCleoptra.com" target="_blank.

Have you tried contacting Hugh Monroe Neely? He has restored some of the existing Theda Bara films, and he used the footage in his documentary The Woman With the Hungry Eyes.

Yes, Hugh is helping me on the project, but all he has is a standard definition transfer. I need the original film clip to make a high definition transfer to remove the scratches.
