Here's a shoutout for Ben Model's red carpet interview at this year's TCM film festival in Hollywood.

From the subject headline, I thought Ben's high school principal had finally caught up with him.

Thanks Ed for the link. I've heard Ben Model's name mentioned often but never have been able to see and hear him talk as I could with this link.

Ben played for Show People (1928), which was the first Marion Davies film to be shown at the TCM festival. Sounds like it went over well with a packed house, despite a theater fire alarm in the middle of the film.

The woman holding up a sign with his name on it might have stood a bit closer to him?

I didn't know Mr. Model was a Wurlitzerist as well as a piano-man. Must have a listen to him playing one of the mighty behemoths!

Donald, I've been playing theatre organ for about 15 years or so. Some of the shorts on my YouTube channel have theatre organ scores, but I've scored films on organ for KinoLorber -- It's the Old Army Game, Sherlock Holmes (the Barrymore one), several shorts on the Ultimate Keaton Shorts set -- and on my own label: When Knighthood Was In Flower, The Family Secret (plus both shorts on that disc), The Three Musketeers, as well as on the last several volumes of Thanhouser films that have been released.

Not to mention the current episode of another one...

That's funny - he doesn't LOOK wurlitzerist!

Ben's talented, and seems to be good people.
